Disable Dedicated Play/ Pause Keys on Apple Keyboards in Aperture

i'm sure many other people have same annoyance aperture , iphoto , have not been able find answer anywhere. title suggests i'm looking way make aperture not start slideshow using play/ pause key on apple keyboards.

ideas on how this?

 

system preferences>keyboard

check box says "use f1, f2, etc. keys standard function keys."
