Firewall switched off by default?


hi guys/gals,

noticed firewall switched off. did miss when first setup new mbp or default? thought i'd start new thread people may not aware of this.

i've looked through of older threads , mentioned previous versions bit flakey 2010 thought things may have changed since. can't find reason not having firewall configured , switched on , why switched off default. we've had our firewalls switched on on our linux machines @ work , @ home don't understand why shouldn't on on os x unit.

can enlighten me?
