hey everyone,
i'm having hard time choosing mbp. it's between base 13" model or base 15" model. more sure can 13" c2d, want speed blow me away... right have dell studio 14z 2ghz c2d. since it's windows 7, slows down. know os x faster, old technology, c2d, blah blah turning me away.
though 13" can handle need for, bigger screen , better graphics. i'll using for: internet, office/iworks, itunes, ripping lot of cds, dvd ripping/encoding, light photoshop work, , i'm going sort of computer science major, whatever programs i'll need that... i'm not pc gamer, mess around on demos of games like.
here's i'm not sure do. if go 13" model, buy decent speakers, wireless kb/m, , else may , don't need. thinking maybe 32" lcd tv, i'm not sure. have 22" 1080p monitor. if go 15" model, that. no extras time being (not need them right now, either)
i'm sorry such long post , repeated topic (i hate seeing repeats as next guy!) so...what's opinion? thanks!!!!!
i'm debating well. here how worked out myself.
if expect of serious work machine - ie programming hours, playing/ripping music/video, photoshop etc - without external monitor, means 15". if concerned c2d (i worry spare parts ... ?), 15" i5 processor. if may need more horses - not-so-light photoshop, or more serious video - 15". if want anti-glare, have 15" (dumb policy!)
i'm getting 13" (sometime - not totally convinced of release, may buy). serious work done laptop hooked large display (or use old plenty fast g5 dual-2.3 ghz mac, 2 displays). serious recording, monitoring, editing, programming ... have external display connected. (significant) rest of time, traveling or waiting somewhere or on road - lighter , smaller preferred. 13" wins: cheaper, easier use on plane, battery life forever, easy carry around, drives external displays no problem. concerns: if need logic board/c2d replacement several years ownership, glare-display, not enough horses serious video work, etc. latter i'll imac or mac pro, again 13" wins - me. i'd prefer anti-glare think may able live (by means, try/view before buy, e.g. best buy or apple store).
