Issues with Garageband 09 when using guitar...

hi ladies , gents.

i'm having trouble when connect guitar imac i'm using midi guitar cable bought apple shop along imac few years back.

i'm start recording of own music bass,drum,guitar. pretty sorted since started use garageband 09 keep getting message pop (below). it's getting point of frustration because no matter option select still pop up. please can shed light on me , please.
