i have brand new 13" mbp. came 250gb hdd.
bought oem 1tb western digital scorpio blue internal hdd. fits perfectly, though have complained because it's taller 2.5" drives. here's link:

anywho. installed it, , seemed great. booted up, , expected saw folder question mark because there no os installed. no problem.
insert snow leopard disk, , looks it's loading install files (twisty status thing underneath apple logo). no problem.
however:
takes longer usual "load" these files, , never see osx install dialogue. instead, stays on grey screen extended period , grey screen of death telling me power down.
called apple , said call western digital. called them, got disconnected , frustrated, , haven't called yet.
ideas?
