hey guys 2010 macbook pro took 20sec sleep , take awhile wakeup. came accross thread saying macbook intend hibernate first before fall asleep. plus hibernate mode draining out battery , paste big sleep image on hdd.
commanding: sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 0 (disable hibernating mode) disable sleepimage written on drive: sudo nvram "use-nvramrc?"=false
question people use or done before, affect battery calibration? mean since hibernating mode disable, computer drain battery shutdown?
mean when u have 1% of battery computer tell u save ur works. 20sec bang, turn off hibernating (save ur work ram hdd) sleep until computer dead. our battery caliberating take place.
know new macbook pro dont call hibernate mode, rather called safesleep. kinda anoying , dont need save work when battery fall 1%. want know, "disabling hibernating-mode" affect macbook drain battery when sleeping?
cheers
it doesn't affect behavior you're describing directly. means when computer goes sleep contents of ram aren't saved disk, if lose power (say battery removed or somehow drained, although shouldn't happen), computer not able restore session. restart if you'd shut down completely.
won't affect battery life in slightest, however. battery calibration handled separate processes.
