so got ipad ups on april 3rd (and glorious day).
first thing did inspect it. noticed in each corner of glass there nearly-invisible mark around corner. looked excess glue. assumed plastic sheet protecting screen in box.
it's 20 days later , can confirm isn't removable. looks under glass (maybe excess glue?). on 1 hand, ipad works great , it's aesthetic blemish. on other hand bothers me, , did pay $600 thing.
should do? , know if apple replaces unit defects anyway?
call apple , see tell you. doubt since cosmetic , not reported right away, worth phone call.
