VERY Slow connecting to networked mac

i running mac mini file/webserver , connect via vnc..

if try mount shared drives on macbook pro, or hackintosh takes quite while connect/prompt password.

same thing if connect vnc. takes minute or 2 prompt me password.

mac mini wired directly router. using 100baset. hackintosh wired well, macbook either wireless n or wired.

idea on how can speed up?

windows machine connects fast.
iphone can connect vnc fast. (mocha vnc lite)

hi,

if have seen type of behaviour pretty in past , has dns resolution.

specifically, server having difficulty resolving host names of clients.

log on server , check whether can resolve name ip address of client.

if can't, easiest thing add static entry /etc/hosts file.

things should faster.

alternately, worng, check out.

cheers,

mark
