Backing up Boot Camp Partition

well, i've searched lot of threads , maybe i'm not getting it.
trying find way boot camp partition contains windows vista ultimate os , applications. apple tells me beyond providing boot camp software beyond scope (not going go on issue here;)
figure there 2 ways go this:
1) format portable drive in snow leopard recognizable format mac os , image boot camp partition portable drive .dmg file.
2) or, install winclone on mac os side, , try image boot camp partition portable drive.

try either of these or have method? had hardware emergency other day , found out when have been running time machine, not backup boot camp partition.
nightmare me. backup windows file on multiple separate media, need find logical, consistent, sound way backup windows system , applications...because don't care spend week reinstalling when hard drive dies 1 day. use windows run autodesk's revit architecture 2010 (runs dream on mbp 17!)...need work. use mac os else (why would'nt you!).
appreciated.

winclone wrapper built in mac os tools , ntfstools. uses dmg 1 of image formats, knows how resize partitions , make sure boot, better disk utility itself.

if have enough space on main os x partition, use winclone create image main os x partition. backed time machine automatically.
