acquired g4 mdd power mac. dual 1 ghz processors.
pulled hd out of older g4, connected it, , powered machine up. hd has osx 10.5 , works fine in older g4.
first thing notice small fan (in door) spinning, large fan under power supply not.
red light on motherboard on.
happens white screen, apple logo, , spinning circle. never acceses hard drive , boots 10.5
point to? hope dual processors not problem here. large fan not spinning worries me.

exchange case fan..among other things..
used g4 mdd , it's little perks on years. however, never had problem case fan not fire when booting. case fan big 1 in front of heat sink (120mm x 38, delta fan)
if case fan not start spinning during booting, it's damaged or wear out. since system runs kind of fan check, may not boot correctly because of failed fan protect overheating.
best exchange fan 120 silentx model 18db noise level.
