okay, know way this? let me explain better can understand want. in windows folder can use id3 tag information music files display in column view see music displayed in itunes. (title, artist, album, etc.) have extensive library of music (600+ gb) , i'm working multiple external drives. i'm adding collection new music. being able see of data in os window makes managing music on multiple drives easier. we're talking folders 1000's of songs in them. don't want have set mutiple itunes libraries each external drive , deal headache of switching , forth between them. confusing.
if view id3 tag info in columns in finder window compare , contrast different drives ensure consistency or duplication. example, drive missing album #1 when compare same folder on drive b. let's copy 1 album on drive ensure identical.
don't need id3 tagging program because not want. can edit tags manually or in batch through itunes. need see id3 tag data in finder multiple window display.

oh well, research far has turned finder replacement program called pathfinder 5.
i'm not sure want replace finder entirely 1 needed function. has else ever needed same functionality , if do? i'm open suggestions.
