my wife , wedding photography during summers pay rent , go few movies. yesterday shot wedding , when wife taking portrait shots amateur photographer entry level nikon d-whatever (i don't know jack nikons, we're canon way!) stood right behind , took exact shots , tried time them right take advantage of our lighting set up. talk irritating! feels copyright infringement spend lot of time metering light , working subjects them ideal position/expression. on top of of bridesmaids getting confused , kept looking @ him ruining otherwise shots getting.
so, question is, have tactful ideas on ways avoid in future? have run similar problem? ideas (even ludicrous ones) welcome!
you hard pressed call copyright infringement if official , paid wedding photographer don't see why not tell him please move away working , if wants use part of gear , lighting setup own shots welcome rent it.
don't weddings have done couple of outdoor shootings quasi celebrities , have had people come , walk set (in public park) , take shots of people. telling them off nicely in beginning did not work. nowadays tell them off sternly under contract , have no permission using "equipment" or setup nor permission take these shots unless model etc. allows them to.
might not same situation telling him off have been prudent thing do. hired photographers, not him.
