'swupdate' Error

hi all,

edit: have solved issue, manually created 'swupd' folder in /private/var.

wondering if can help, os x 10.5 server cycling following error in system.log.

the other issue having trying enable software update service, thats giving me following error.

the service has encountered error.
try refresh view (osxserver.local/software update.
report problem administrator if persists. (cannot_start_service_err).

could these 2 issues related?
i'm new os x server, been playing 3 weeks appreciated.
