Autocorrect Annoyances/Am I Being Dense?

i've had ipad 3 weeks , there's 1 little annoyance have it. have keyboard/language/etc set english united kingdom, autocorrect still insist on american spelling (for example "realize") it'll underline spelling error without correction suggestion

likes autocorrect "ive" "vie" , not "i've" that's down me being lazy! other brits noticed weird goings on autocorrect on ipad, or have missed setting somewhere?

not complain ipad, since iphone 1.0. auto correct can hit or miss.
