i have been using refworks through university subscription , find program quite useful: downloads references internet sources , makes them available through internet including articles uploaded users account... has 1 major drawback, references not downloaded formated , have correct manually each 1 of references include italics or special characters... each time write bibliography!
wrote refworks support , sent me link compatible software although safari listed among compatible browsers, not supported (as explicitly noted in response).
either downloading browser don't use refworks or change reference manager altogether. prefer refworks team solved incompatibility problem can keep macintosh applications , current reference manager... , considering number of mac users increasing, specially among university students main users of reference manager tools, think worth commit research technical team task.

safari work fine refworks except missing formatting buttons in reference editor. known bug. firefox recommended doesn't have problem. said, if need use italics (or other formatting) in bibliography should modify output style using. way bibliography formatted how want without having edit paper each time. information using refworks output style editor go http://www.refworks.com/refworks/help/helpmainframe.asp?p=using_the_output_format_editor2.htm
