hi- i've connected camcorder imac using firewire capture in final cut express many times before. i'm trying again , says no video device selected , must in capture presets far can tell final cut express has easy set ups , not audio/ visual settings area. there no communication camera @ all. tried capture through imovie option gives me through imac's built in camera. have captured using camera through imovie well. it's if there overriding setting on mac use built in camera or ignore firewire input again can't find setting may have done this.
or suggestions appreciated!!
the first part in debugging see if camera seen os x. after connecting camera , turning on (and in video playback mode, et vtr), start system profiler found in utilities folder , click on firewire entry down left side under hardware. camera appear?
oh, try different cable.
have done system upgrades? versions of involved using?
