okay, here situation. i'm not asking iphone brand spankin' new no data plan; know that's pulling serious teeth. so...
have iphone 3g purchased 2 years ago, aka it's beyond eligible upgrade (since at&t allowed upgrade eligibility iphone 3g owners @ 3gs release), , plan on getting 4g iphone next month or when it's released. now, iphone on family plan 2 other lines on it, 1 being mother's. said love if have iphone 3g when replace new iphone, refuses if forced pay data plan. so, put, there way "cancel" current iphone line , line or whatever trickery needs done, , have iphone 3g replace current cell phone? imagine may possible, i've read have cancelled iphone contracts , added line family plan , doing stuff sim cards in order have iphone w/o data, situation may different, i'm not sure.
you need data plan. far know, used able use dumb phone , cancel data plan, can't now. at&t send message saying have add data plan.
