Time Capsule

i'm buying imac i7 2tb hd , thinking go time capsule backup.

can run backup periodically, keeping turned off of time?

see product lasts 18 months, should more use if 18 months due continuous running, , turn on when needed.

i'm sure few years before ever close using 2 tb if ever, in sense, better buy 1 tb time capsule on 2tb because of longevity issues & backup requirements, not mention expense?

 

personally, skip capsule.

i'd inexpensive external hard drive time machine.

, if you're going wireless, aebs you've got in own device. way if hdd goes boom in capsule, wireless isn't out, , vice versa.

built server, , have time machine backups pointing instead. way, no more external hard drives juggle, , if hard drive dies in server stays up, , don't lose data or backups.
