okay im new macrumors , first post. im sorry if has been asked but...
im interested in buying mac pro. wondering if should save little money , buy used mac pro... maybe year or 2 old... (i have found late 2008 quad core 2.66 model 8 gb of ram $1000) , upgrade ram, hard drive, video card, etc. or should buy new base mac pro developers discount? $2000. advice appreciated.
the base 2008 systems use 2.8ghz processor (e5462), you've described used system inaccurate. it's either 2009 (not $1000, base price 2500), or 2006/2007 model running x5355 (look here). assuming it's quad core part.
might want take note new lineup of mp's due out in not distant future (supposed june, though expect in may won't interfere new iphones due out in june).
however, need know you're doing system, , specific (particularly software , how use it). budget helpful well.
