i starting new project requires frequent air travel between same 2 cities. fortunate enough have 17" (mid 2007) mbp @ home , brand spanking new i7 15" mbp @ other site.
not want lug mbp on/off plane anymore , ultra traveling (mostly).
not expect air heavy lifting, use media (e.g. video), e-booking , iwork. also, need keynote presentations.
not want egg-fryer (already have 2 of), , has have decent battery life.
thinking of refurbed 2.13ghz air ssd...
know air update may imminent, needs not have have latest , greatest.
current 2.13 air fit bill, wrt over-heating?
p.s. - not considering ipad now.
maybe should considering ipad though aren't???
fore ebooks, videos, entertainment, , iwork/keynote, ipad might perfect job. has 10-hour battery, , can entertainment better mba.
if had setup, use ipad between job sites.
use mba because want 1 computer everything. if had mbp @ 2 sites, , wanted travel between, use ipad on mba.
think should reconsider needs again? , ipad.
wouldn't recommend pay $1799 mba right now. value horrific compared same price full year ago exact same price. there absolutely no way buy mba right now, couldn't advise else. if absolutely had no computer , had mba, pay $1349 refurbished "b" 128 gb ssd. however, knowing have 2 mbps, don't see need waste money on mba.
hell, throw money out window, , still buy ipad on mba. if you're willing wait until wwdc, consider mba. there potential added mba @ wwdc. example, apple might waiting update mba @ wwdc gigantic advancements in technology or huge price cuts. consider core i7 cpu @ 2 ghz dedicated ati gpu, 256 gb ssd, ips display, , 3g/4g/lte card built in. consider of same price mba right $1800.
consider if apple offers same c2d , nvidia 320m @ double gpu capabilities, offers 7-hour battery , 3g/4g/lte along 256 gb ssd? consider smaller form factor or case change mba? wouldn't better same money? consider apple way of charging full price year old system without update. consider of possible changes mba. couldn't in conscience recommend buy mba right reason. beyond wwdc, @ least there aren't going changes it.
if had buy traveling device right now, , had 2 mbps, buy ipad. if need mac, recommend 13" mbp or mb. if had 3 lb. , had mac, recommend refurbished mba 128 gb ssd , 1.86 ghz cpu $1349. wouldn't pay penny on $1349 mba right now!
