i bought mbp 13" (snow leopard). didn't have cable migration assistant, created account , used mbp bit see if worked fine.
got cable (network), connected directly between imac (leopard updated), , chose move files , user (not apps).
morning found message "connection lost". checked cables, tried again, same message.
chose "cancel".
past 40 minutes, seems stuck on "cancelling migration. less minute" in mbp, , still showing "transferring system configuration, less minute" in imac.
questions:
- mac doing? erasing copied files?
- normal take long? how long can expect in state?
- do? wait or restart mbp power button?
- do after cancelling? read in forum people recommend clean install, reinstalling apps, copying doc manually best performance (i have years of junk in imac, product of migration previous computer)
help!!!

have exact same problem !!! took 3 hours ibook g4 transfer new mbp 13" , when got "less minute" message popped said "other mac not responding". didn't touch anything. tryed few things didn't work cancelled transfer. , it's stuck (since @ least hour, more). seems it's deleting transfered. hope it's not gonna take more took there (3 hours). i'm going leave night , hope it's gonna on tomorow. if have start over, think i'm going forget tranfering apps. i'll install need myself !!!
