SplitView madness

after exhaustive search last night , morning surrender.

i'm developing simple quiz application ipad based on splitview template. coded except 1 last thing, instead of forcing user select next question menu or popover menu include "next" button. simple sounds have been unable find way this. can help?

on side note: nice able automatically select first row "question in case" upon load. shouldn't issue if can solve problem one.
