Why does everyone always assume you want to get hooked up?

so im 43 , single, , rather enjoy being single. have attractive casual girlfriend can call when want companionship, alot me, enjoys privacy , being single. see each other once every 3 weeks or talk in between on phone.

reason whenever out male friends trying hook me up. problem im not type goes in casual sex, , attracted to/or interested in women.

problem came me last night. @ bar checking out band , enjoying singleness, when ran friend. chatted bit, , went started chatting others. after went on way food ordered arrived sat , enjoyed food , drinks, intention of leaving after done eating.

shortly after done eating, friend comes 2 women, , pretty obvious trying pick 1 wouldnt go anywhere unless friend picked up, , turns out manbait her. pretty uncomfortable on several levels. older (probably in 50's), , lack of better way of saying both looked had hard lives..

fortunately me friend had drunk way , ended puking , giving me out....

if hadnt gotten sick im still not sure how have handled that.

i in mid-20s. single number of years (bar few 1 night affairs), , people started trying hook me dodgy single friends. when declined people started wondering if turning gay. had no interest in relationship or sex time..

enjoy being alone, i'm not vastly social person, , lot of people find hard appreciate feel lonely easily. don't feel lonely - don't know 'lonely' feels like, unless feels free want.

days behind me now, i've been living gf on 2 yrs now, enjoy. equally i'm happy not doing whole playing field thing. find dating circles tacky.
