iPad screen or software problem when flick scrolling

hi all

when flick scroll on ipad, while still scrolling, swipe horizontally. instead of moving horizontally/diagonally, ipad stop scrolling. have lift finger off screen , perform gesture again scroll horizontally. i've tried same thing on 3gs , works desired, changing vertical movement horizontal/diagonal movement. seems if ipad misinterpreting horizontal swipe stationary tap of screen. else having problem? trying figure out whether it's problem screen or bug in software.
