i have late 2008 15" macbook pro. battery life not spectacular (albeit better dell or lenovo i've used). when idling lasts full 8-10 hours, easy. when use it lasts 3 hours only.
usage includes surfing web, using textmate programming -- nothing strenuous @ all.
programming , text editing on computer, , wondering if of using 2010 model i7's can comment on battery life (eg. how long get).

i'm running 15 inch i5, , sounds similar i'm getting. 8 hours easy wireless off , idling, once turn on wireless , browsing (little no flash), start getting around 6 hours.
