i want reinstall os x erasing hard drive , performing fresh install. however, sad discover superdrive not accept cds/dvds anymore (it spits them out).
i've read thread: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=700466 situation identical person's. have explored using optical drive in windows pc , can use pc read discs me. however, pc can read boot camp portion of install disc. downloaded windows installer 'remote install mac os x' software , installed that.
here's when things went wrong. after running 'remote install mac os x' application on pc, followed through straightforward steps (including choosing install disc , network connection use). rebooted macbook , held down alt/option key led new screen.
read in instructions of 'remote install...' application, option choose network should have appeared under start-up disk. didn't.
option given select start-up hard drive on macbook , resume normal bootup. i've been stuck on ever since , need further advice on should do.
buying external hard drive or replacing superdrive last resort options since i'd find (free solution) problem. help?

easiest solution connect in target disk mode , split disk 2 partitions.
on 1 of them restore mac os installation disc. can start partition , install os.
after it's done. can remove partition , recover space.
