i did it, did did it! took brand new 2.26ghz mac mini , decided have go of popping open ram upgrade. have 20+ years working on pc's , never thought i'd sweat bullets @ thought of getting hands inside computer 'til entered realm of mac mini.
watched videos , considered tool options. found perfect opening device @ dollar tree store - thin, metal spatula. solid kind, not slotted one. used dulled carpet knife sliding between plastic backside , aluminum frame giving enough room start 1 corner of spatula in separation.
once spatula in (with relative ease, , not 1 scratch!) felt release of internal clips , gently pulled up. surprise , relief, mac mini's plastic cover cooperative in separating.
working way around case cover, had off in less 1 minute.
so, considering upgrading little bad boy, patience , dollar tree spatula need.
unfortunately, can afford single 2gb stick of pc3-8500, knowing can in guts of mini i'll bump 4gb when funds allow.

, agree, nerve-wracking when open mini first time. before know it, can have open , in 10 minutes flat.
