i have 2008 unibody macbook pro running snow leopard 10.6.3. want reset default ambient brightness, because stopped changing after manually changed brightness keyboard. made sure ambient light changing enabled in system preferences. past experience, think deleting preferences.plist file trick, i'm not sure. suggestions?
you can't disable auto-brightness changing brightness manually. you'd have uncheck box in sysprefs explicitly. if that's on, should work.
if still doesn't, ambient light sensor might defective. keyboard backlight still turning on , off automatically? cause if does, there might other problem.
can doublecheck if it's working keeping hand in front of webcam, light sensor right next it.
