i have been setting intel mac mini running leopard basic file server small business. doing until decided wanted change name of home folder.
attempted logging in "root administrator" , followed online "how to". after rebooting gray screen apple logo , spinning cog. needless have missed step!!
have tried using mac mini's os x dvd boot holding down c key while rebooting keeps spinning.
suggestions on how can perform clean install if mini not responding shift key or c key on boot up?

what happens when dvd inserted , hold "option" key on startup?
