iPhone not synching - help!

i've bought new macbook doesn't "see" iphone (recognise device, though charge it), or synch it.

iphone still works old computer.

advice on how iphone working new mac?

 

the fact phone charging means there power getting port. have got other usb peripherals can test, make sure port functional?
