i have highpoint 4322 in mac pro. connected 8 hard drives in raid 5 mode equal out 7tb of data. want os , and re-install it.
question lose data on raid if this? plan on downloading latest drivers , installing them highpoint 4322 , connecting drives up. feel should work insight helpful.

assuming don't re-initialize array, data remain.
i'm not sure why you'd need anyway (re-initialize array, you've not indicated it's failed or failing). presume os on separate disk (so there'd no need perform such step).
if os on array, re-installation wouldn't hurt, can't reformat either, unless it's separate partition on array (i.e. made boot partition of outer tracks, typically 10%, though in case, wouldn't need big; 250gb more sufficient os , application data).
