i've seen few threads ruminating on benefit should be, that's not question is.
want upgrade i7 mbp got last month 4 gigs eight. here in australia, apple wants $850 ram. went in , asked buyback, said because month old ram "used" , wouldn't buy me-- otherwise $560, bit more reasonable. despite fact did utilise buyback service when upgraded old 13'' mbp 2 4 gigs, though i'd had laptop 3 months already, manager wouldn't budge.
@ rate i've been hunting around online, , cannot find distributors have 1066mhz ram machine uses in stock. of sites don't have 1066mhz ddr3 ram @ , ones have lead time of month. can find plethora of four-gig 1333mhz chips though.
question is, work or problem? had issue after upgrading ram (the 13''), os x lock sometimes, made me swallow apple markup , buy stock. of distributors here difficult deal , charge restocking fee, @ minimum, if stuff doesn't work, don't want take risk of buying @ higher clock speed if it's going cause me problems.
don't care whether or not make machine faster, it's capacity want.
it's price difference of $500 vs $850, worth taking risk or should suffer apple's exorbitant markup?
