HP Officejet 4500 Wireless Will Not Print Through AirPort BaseStation WiFi

just bought hp officejet 4500 wireless multifunction printer.

set , prints fine via usb , "ad hoc" wifi network.

however, not print via local airport basestation wifi network. local network won't recognize it. error states hp unit "out of range." 2 feet mac.

have reset wifi settings on hp unit , updated latest hp driver. no dice.

per hp desk, since mac prints hp via "ad hoc" network, problem not hp unit. think correct. prints fine usb, i'd take printer off desk wastes lot of desk space.

ideas on how basestation let mac print hp printer through network???
