i thought easy process it's not working. tv has 1 hdmi port , it's in use connecting direct tv dvr. luckily tv has dvi input.
so, purchased apple display port dvi cable apple , dvi dvi cable cableclub.com. connected them , macbook recognized second monitor. can see in system preferences , can select mirrored displays , forth. also, resolution on macbook changes when connection made. however, tv doesn't show anything.
it's sharp aquos tv. instruction manual shows how can connect computer dvi input. i've tried putting macbook sleep , waking , forth, no luck .
sharp has options in setup menu dvi connection. digital pc, analog pc, digital av , analog av. i've tried them , none work.
ideas? didn't buy cable , adapter nothing.
