hey, new macs here new apple also. had few questions regarding installing windows 7 on late 2009 macbook pro 15".
difference in bootcamp , parallels it? 1 run virtual windows in background while bootcamp let's boot in either osx or windows?
have xps desktop dell has windows vista pre installed. bought copy of windows 7 when released fro newegg. assume cannot use disc , serial, correct? since use on xps desktop? need purchase copy of windows correct?
said, version purchase? 32 or 64 bit?

"major" cons installing windows 7 on mbp? far have gathered battery life being biggest con, others?
bought. mbp around xmas time , must admit love it..osx awesome , hardly ever touch pc desktop anymore, put windows 7 on mbp possibly in future rid of desktop pc together, that's if windows 7 runs smoothly on mbp.

- bootcamp lets boot either osx or windows, while parallels (or vmware fusion) lets run windows while running osx. option requires lots of memory, unless have 4+ gb of ram, , depending on hat doing, bootcamp better option

- since serial has been used, need newly bought serial, or try contacting microsoft , explain need reinstall windows

- either should work, dont know of serious differences between running them via bootcamp

- use bootcamp assistant partition part of hdd windows, , not affect on mac size, decrease available remaining space. depending on installing, 30ish gb size initial partition

- battery life big one, i've noticed mouse not nice or reactive in osx, backlight acts weirdly sometimes, , in programs, microsoft office, right clicking not work
