several q's including macbook refurb or new macbook?

long time lurker first time post-er:

thought spot question/comment. teacher keep in mind read. doing basic functions on mb, heaviest work using imovie.

buy posted refurb (here) or new macbook? can wait until bts promotion begins.

many have noted, previous macbook seems sitting in refurbished section of apple.com there $759.

newer version $949 me (boo, not $899!). newer generation doesn't seem worth money me. don't need battery life , processor , video don't seem necessary do.

called local apple store , let me know yes if buy in back-to-school time frame give me freebies (assuming happens). had thought getting ipod touch already, prefer 32gig 8gig (assuming give 8gig far). .

1 recall if did discounts on 32 or 64 gig touches bts promotion?

if buy refurb , save $190 (plus smaller amount of tax on total purchase price) should plenty me touch re-seller summer, correct?

advice in advance.

honestly, ask couple questions:

going requires stronger video chip? if you're buying macbook in first place, thoughts no.

going need "up 10 hours" of battery life? or "up 7 hours" fine? have mbp 5 hour battery, never run out of battery.

140mhz worth more me? 140mhz isn't big speed boost means these days.

in terms of bts specials, apple tends this: "buy mac, free ipod touch!" now, make pay front, , receive $200 rebate later. don't discount it, give free mail in rebate.

advise buy refurb $759. you're saving $200ish , you're getting computer fundamentally same 1 $949. now, if you're deadset on stonger gpu, longer battery life, , 140mhz of speed, guess dropping $949 best bet.

if me, buy $759. it's steal.
