i made switch mac getting 15 inch i5 macbook pro , want transfer documents pc mac can rid of it! have tried every guide , tutorial find. can't work. tried workgroup (yes, changed name mshome workgroup), tried local network connection, nothing worked. have few ethernet cables used connect 2 computers, , noticed changing cables, different results.
after sharing folder want on pc, , going through guides, tried connect mac. 1 of cables, mac said ethernet cable not connected, , couldn't find (didn't start search) when told connect (using both smb://dnsname/sharename , smb://ipaddress/sharename). other cable, said being partially connected , when told connect, searched minute, said couldn't find anything.
don't know try anymore. here can me, otherwise i'll have go buy external drive. reason don't want because hoping connect old computer , use external hard drive.

- i have 1 of boxes voip telephony, use connect internet through, , connect home phone through. has 3 hubs don't know if can connect 2 computers each other through it
in experience, it's easier connect shared mac drive windows pc other way around. in vein:
