received new macbook pro 15" i5 on 18th april john lewis. cannot laptop battery last longer 4 hours doing light html web browsing in safari, wlan on, bluet off, no flash, no other processes running (checked activity monitor). disappointed. battery calibrated once laptop received, healthy use of battery during 21 day life (no on charging or letting die). phoned apple support, first tech sympathised , got me reset pram , told me re-calibrate battery - didnt make difference, second tech guy using same support call reference told me return laptop.
laptop going john lewis week refund or replacement (cant make mind yet).
believe manufacturing fault, 2 of apple tech guys spoke on phone apple support.
7 days on 14 days return period apple.com, luckily john lewis have 28 day return retail shop , accept it.
saga £1500 laptop.
[edit] kept eye on gpu being used - made sure intel being used during period of testing , nvidia not running.
[edit2] display brightness @ 50% , backlit keyboard off.
same exact experience here. on third i7.
