ok, got brand new i7 macbook pro week ago apple store. today got in mail hard drive bay replacement optical slot in macbook pro newmodus, , went install it. got parts in , hooked up, , i'm trying install os onto intel x25-m ssd drive i've got in primary hard drive spot. have flash drive has image of snow leopard on it, used fresh install on older macbook pro, know works. when boot machine flash drive, sees drive in boot menu, when select it stops. shows apple logo on white screen hours if let it. can boot fine old hard drive in place of optical drive. when @ flash drive within os on old drive, shows fine, , click install link, , goes through installer. when wants reboot, reboot , hangs again trying boot flash drive. i've tried 2 different flash drives, same result.
have idea why happening? i'm frustrated i'm going take walk , come in little bit. option can see @ point putting optical drive in , installing cd see if works fine.
your new macbook pro has newer build version of snow leopard, won't install earlier version. have make new image of dvd's came new macbook pro on flash drive installation.
snow leopard versions won't in alignment until next .(dot) release, i.e. 10.6.4
