antivirus company intego today announced has discovered new spyware application capable of infecting computers running mac os x. spyware, known "osx/opinionspy", downloaded , installed on users' computers via installation process unrelated applications hosted on several popular download sites.
according report, installation instructions seemingly harmless media converter software , screensavers serve vehicle spyware in cases require user accept installation of "market research" add-on opens backdoor on infected computer, scans files, , transmits data remote servers.

as rule (even on windows) never accept installation of "market research" tool, if it's forced on me when i'm trying install else. when happens, goes in trash. there's no reason legitimate app should force that.
