Mastering in Logic Express 9 - Need Some Help!

i pretty new software recording , using garageband 9 (imac/apogee duet.)

have learned bad news cannot make "real time" track changes while mastering in gb. instead understand have make track changes via automation curves (post track recording /pre mastering.)

before getting imac , using gb, recording background on tascam dpo2 digital portastudio. in process, able monitor master track while creating , make changes individual track volume , pan levels while hearing in real time.

can in logic express 9?

i believe asking if logic express can real-time automation? answer yes.

garageband might ok getting basic ideas down, it's not mixing @ all.
