in days (80-83) of personal computers owned eagle pc 4.77 mhz 8088 processor , 8087 fpu. +am upgraded 640k of ram.
point of view amazing machine. kick ass.
btw there no mice, no gui. text based.
hell draw mandelbrot set image in 3 or 4 days. 2 or 3 days.
produce papers , print them. produce basic personal , business workflow.
yes plug in printer b&w no graphics.

jump ipad.
ipad whole lot more (and less) old eagle. can't print.
producing text easy. eagle wouldn't display images, example...
ok question how define computer? computer do?
ipad seems me primary display device. yet can read , write email, can generate fractal images, can track gas mileage, (over long period)on ipad. can limited imagination of developers , hardware.

ok imho ipad computer job display content , run apps.

have said elsewhere, important ipad can't rather can do.
apps sky seems limit in terms of machine can do.

expect our computers has changed.
reality iphone more powerful first few computers.
ipad more powerful device. yes computer.
suspect see devices more , more powerful computers @ core looking , acting else.

cloud become more , more important. ipad become our primary conduit cloud...
