i'm playing around ubuntu 10.04 using parallels desktop 5 mac. according parallels, support opengl 3d acceleration under linux. can't enable desktop effects in ubuntu 10.04. know how to?

on separate note - i've been trying load kubuntu on mac through parallels 5.x day today no luck! how did it??
i've attempted both iso files - "regular" , "alternate" ones, , i've burned both disk (and checked md5sums - ok) , tried load them way. parallels keeps telling me dvd/cd/file "not ready." doing wrong? got winxp sp3 load no problems through parallels kubuntu killing me. please advise how did it, thanks!
