Does any one know of a good VPN tutorial?

i able access files on home network when @ school or work. told setting vpn take care of this. know of vpn tutorial?

running 10.6 on both machines , access files on hard drive attached airport extreme.

in advance

 

if have spare computer around might try untangle. vpn worked me.
