i not sure whether should go 2tb external or inexpensive raid setup (around $400 $500 drives). imac has 1tb internal.
recommended 2 x 2tb externals fw800, 1 time machine , other cloning boot drive. problem store , access of files (indesign, photoshop, itunes/iphoto libraries) off external , not internal. how achieve redundancy out raid in case? can time machine clone information 1 external external?
, if go raid route, read if controller bad, portions of data can corrupted or drives unreadable or dead. that's scary realization. not sure way go.

i recommend keeping files on internal drive. use time machine files. guardian maximus great raid 1 external drive buy. 1.5tb costs $360. buy cheap 2tb dive clone internal. seagate expansion 2tb $120 until may 24.
