os 10.4.11 on mid-2005 ibook g4
i'm having problems installing programs because they, whatever reason, don't accept admin password when ask confirmation. installers either shut down or tell me need administrator password. ever use primary account, , it's designated admin in accounts section of system preferences. software update accepts password install updates no problem. i've tried starting cd , resetting password, hasn't helped either.
seems have been going on while, when couldn't onyx accept password, thought isolated because hadn't tried install software. can't think of changes made might have caused this, it's been couple of months. have few programs install, , don't know how proceed. appreciated. thanks!
