i restart once week or , last 4 6 weeks, i've been having issues restarting 27" imac, 5 months old. happens after click restart , logs out, gets blue screen , status bar in center of screen keeps spinning , spinning (not beach ball, other one). i've let run 30 minutes before , never shuts down have hold down power button , push again start up.
problem is, i'm starting feel effects of shortcut itunes randomly pausing more , more times , longer , longer amounts of time when playing video. i'm guessing has processes run during regular restart not being run since won't perform natural restart.
ideas what's causing problem , how fix it?
does restart after been rebooted?
have checked , fixed permissions?
