like many crazy ideas, 1 originates in longstanding wish of mine: able, independently each application running on system, determine whether application channel internet traffic through proxy server or not.
inexplicable reason, few apps out there provide own, "local" settings. rely on global os settings (under system preferences > networking). omniweb , devonagent, instance, 2 tools lack capability, , find glaring omission. numerous users share view on forums.
so, here's idea: possible create "wrapper" application "hijack" internet traffic of given application , route via proxy server, overriding global os setting? feasible via cocoa apis or require dark programming magic?
thank you.
if it's possible latter. cocoa high-level gui programming, not low level system hackery.
