have co-worker has mbp 5 years old. running tiger. mbp has intel chip , think 2gb of ram.
has never backed computer , not have external hd.
move snow leapard. there several questions:
1) can use sl upgrade disk give gift?
2) there backup software, can use backup data/settings , restore once installs sl?
3) intego makes backup software. good? can run in both tiger , sl?
4) there better backup choices?
5) once installs sl, can use new apple wireless keyboard , wireless mouse?
plan give mouse , keyboard gift, if can use them.
since purchased imac, includes mouse , keyboard (i had mini), no longer need them?
not have high level of technical skill, concerned.

2) yes, can either use program called superduper or manually move files onto external hard drive.
3) once have snow leopard can use time machine information. won't need other applications.
4) no.
5) yes, make sure disconnect , remove them computer. system preferences > bluetooth
if had mini prior , had bought wireless keyboard , wireless mouse separate, won't need them. if have wireless keyboard , mouse imac, need them.
