someone please help this mac noob

intro: got new mbp after waiting new models , waiting bst. ive used day. first mac

problem: ripping stack of cds ok, , going fine until got beach ball of death , had close itunes. when put cd in super drive(to rip) , doesnt show in itunes @ all. mac sees it, itunes doesnt. see screen shot:

just reset pram fix problem.
